This certification system is based on the European standard EN 16785-1, which allows the independent evaluation of statements about the biological content of products. Biobased content refers to biomass, not just biocarbon.
The certification system applies to the main materials, semi-finished and finished products. Also to all rigid, aqueous and gaseous products containing carbon, i.e. to a wide range of products.
Suppliers can use certificates and labels to demonstrate that they meet these requirements.
NEN BIO-BASED CONTENT
The European Bioplastics Certification System is based on the Eleventh Annual European Bioplastics Conference in Berlin, where bioplastics are the certification area.
TÜV AUSTRIA CERTIFICATION BODY FOR YOUR NEN-BIOBASED CERTIFICATE
NEN (The Netherlands) has commissioned TÜV AUSTRIA as certification body to award the NEN Bio-Biobased Content logo to products compliant with EN 16785-1. Biobased Content Approach.
